Family Preservation Program

<<Page 2 >>

Our strategy is to assist participating households to greatly improve family hygiene, sanitation and general health and provide assistance for children to enter school. CFL assists with Income Generating Activities that will enable families to obtain vital income for the basics, which is designed to ultimately allow them to cover their own expenses, everything from food and medicine to clothing and school fees. Families must take an active role in understanding and solving their own problems.
Care for Life (CFL) trains dynamic individuals and community leaders and empowers them to respond to the needs of AIDS affected families and children in their respective areas. These field officers encourage and motivate the households to set goals and reach them by helping devise work plans that are reviewed at weekly visits. Households are organized in groups to provide support to each other. Children’s clubs help children meet their own physical, emotional and mental needs through participating in group activities such as sports, drama, cultural, and community improvement events.
