Thank you for your interest in wanting to serve the people in Mozambique who live in the most extreme poverty. Serving them will be a life changing experience for you as you come to know and love them. Be prepared to work hard. This is an opportunity to gain greater insight into what you have to offer the world. Most people in Mozambique work very hard to sustain their lives, but have very little opportunity to practice other skills. Their resources are limited, and with the supplies and knowledge that the volunteers (YOU) bring, the people, and especially the children, have the opportunity to learn basic sewing, and other skills that may one day help them provide income for their families. Your time and talents can thus teach someone a skill or improve a talent, help an individual understand his or her value and offer hope.

In addition, the H.E.L.P team volunteers may have the opportunity to help a community build a native structure, so their community may gather and plan ways to better their lives, and the children can gather to be taught in Care for Life children’s clubs.

Orphanages are a sad part of life in Mozambique. The love and support that the volunteers give to the children in these orphanages help alleviate suffering and instill hope in some of the youngest victims of poverty.
